EWC Head Volleyball coach announces first member of the 2019 Lancer Volleyball recruiting class

Vittoria Cacciavillani

Lancer fans, today we are proud to announce the first member of our 2019 recruiting class.

Please welcome Vittoria Cacciavillani to the Lancer Volleyball family! "Vic" is a 5'8" setter for Firenze Ovest Pallavolo (Florence West Volleyball) in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. Vittoria wants to study, and then some day teach, literature.

EWC head coach Dante Geoffrey said Vittoria has an undeniable gift and passion for volleyball, and her interests in philosophy, travel and seeking new life experiences make her a perfect fit for EWC's ambitious, growing volleyball program.

"Vittoria was already impressive on paper, but once we began having daily communication, I was blown away by her commitment to growth and courage in the face of the unknown," Geoffrey said. "She has a great volleyball intellect and will be capable of leading the type of dynamic offense we want to run here."

Cacciavillani said she believes in the potential and new direction of Lancer volleyball and is excited to work with her new teammates while entertaining the Lancer fans.

"It is an honor for me to be part of the Lancer family," Cacciavillani said. "I strongly believe that next year will be the first of a long series of spectacular seasons for EWC volleyball. Coach Geoffrey's mentality is what I have always been looking for in a team, and when he sent me the first message I immediately understood the college was the right one for me."

Cacciavillani is one of many exciting new players who will don the black and gold this fall. Stay tuned for more exciting Lancer news!
