Eastern Wyoming Volleyball is proud to announce the addition of Emma Larsen to the Lancers program!
Larsen is a 5'10" pin hitter from Hyrum, Utah who graduated from Mountain Crest High School. Larsen (and her family) lead a very active life and she was a multi-sport athlete who competed year-round in sports including volleyball, basketball, hockey, as well as winter and water sports.
"She's going to bring a lot of athletic ability and experience to our team," EWC head coach Dante Geoffrey said. "As a multi-sport athlete she may not have as many deliberate volleyball reps as other players but she has a wide range of developed athletic skills and movements at her disposal, and demonstrated that she's a very coach-able player and fast learner.
"Her fundamentals are as sound as anyone's in the front row, so it will be exciting to see much she develops in her first year of college ball."
Larsen was in search of a school that made an effort to get to know her beyond her film and stats. In EWC she said she found a place at which she feels confident will make her feel comfortable when she moves from home to begin her collegiate career.
"I want to be a person to my teammates, classmates, and my instructors, not a number in thousands of students," Larsen said. "One of the factors that brings me to EWC is the fact that the coach reached out to me as an individual. He found what he could about me and then sent a personal message. I was impressed not to get a generic email that is blasted to hundreds of recruits at once. I felt if he will take the time to find out about me, I would take the time to find out about him, I liked what he presents to be as a coach. My whole process of becoming a Lancer has been handled on an individual basis."
