Lancers Sign Sam Nkwopara

TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Eastern Wyoming College Men's Basketball is proud to announce the signing of Sam Nkwopara, a 6'4" wing from Fort Bend Clements High School in Texas. A high-level competitor with a strong physical presence, Nkwopara brings athleticism, versatility, and defensive intensity to the Lancers program.

Nkwopara made a significant impact at one of Texas' most competitive levels, averaging 13.6 points and 7 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, he played a key role in leading his team to the District 21-6A Championship, quickly establishing himself as a difference-maker on both ends of the floor.

Despite being sidelined late in his senior season due to a shoulder injury, Nkwopara has fully recovered and is expected to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level. With his length, explosiveness, and defensive instincts, he has the ability to guard multiple positions, compete above the rim, and take on the opposing team's top scorer.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sam to the Lancer family," said Head Coach Bill Engel. "He is an athletic, versatile wing who plays with great passion, is a force on the glass, and will provide a physical presence on both ends of the court."
