Eastern Wyoming College Men’s Basketball Welcomes Back Isiah Ayala

TORRINGTON, Wyo. — Eastern Wyoming College Men's Basketball has secured a key returner for the upcoming season with the re-signing of Isiah Ayala.

Ayala, a native of Minneapolis, was a standout in Region IX during the 2024-25 season. He led the team in rebounds and blocks while ranking second in scoring. He also delivered an impressive conference performance, shooting 45.2% from 3-point range.

Prior to his collegiate career, Ayala built an accomplished résumé at Warren Harding High School. He was a two-time all-conference selection and scored 1,455 career points. He also played a pivotal role on a team that captured the "Big Shots" National Championship, was a "Grind Session" finalist and earned team MVP honors during the 2021-22 season.

Standing 6-foot-7, Ayala is a versatile, high-energy competitor. His length and athleticism allow him to guard all five positions, while his rebounding ability, scoring touch and relentless motor make him a consistent impact player.

Head Coach Engel said Ayala's return will be significant for the program.

"Isiah brings tremendous versatility and leadership to our team," Engel said. "We're excited to have him back and expect him to play a major role for us this season."

Ayala is expected to be a key presence both on the court and in the locker room as the Lancers prepare for the upcoming season.
