Eastern Wyoming College Men’s Basketball Signs Solomon Davis

TORRINGTON, Wyo. — Eastern Wyoming College Men’s Basketball has announced the signing of Solomon Davis for the upcoming season.

Davis, a point guard from Overland High School, has committed to continue his basketball career with the Lancers.

During his senior season, Davis battled through a broken nose and worked his way back into the starting rotation, helping lead the Blazers to a fourth-place finish in the Centennial Conference 6A standings. A two-year letter winner, Davis is recognized as a strong floor leader, facilitator and defender.

Off the court, Davis has also excelled academically and within his school community. He participated in the AVID program for four years, served four years as a student assistant, earned honor roll recognition twice and currently carries a 3.3 GPA.

Head Coach Bill Engel said Davis’ leadership and competitiveness will make him a valuable addition to the program.

“Eastern Wyoming is adding a player who brings a championship mindset every day,” Engel said. “Solomon’s relentless work ethic, ability to apply pressure on the ball, distribute effectively and lead his teammates will make him a valuable contributor both on and off the court.”

Davis is expected to add leadership, defensive intensity and playmaking ability as the Lancers prepare for the upcoming season.
